Other mirrorless cameras may qualify if they provide interchangeable lenses, at least 4K video, clean HDMI output, reliable face or eye autofocus, manual exposure and white balance, continuous power, and dependable extended operation. Compatibility must be confirmed; equipment outside the approved Canon path is not guaranteed or deeply troubleshot by Tattooed Nerd Studio.
Required in both systems
Good and Great share the same backbone: prompting, one-button control, correct USB data cables, dependable computer connections, and safe power distribution.
Keeps eye contact natural for meetings, scripts, and recorded content.
The control surface behind the one-button-ready workflow.
USB-C to USB-C for the MV7+ and Stream Deck; USB-C to USB-A data cables or adapters where the computer requires them.
Included USB-C to USB-A 3.0 cable, or a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for USB 3.0 or faster.
Powered USB-C or Thunderbolt dock when ports are limited, with dedicated high-bandwidth USB for Cam Link whenever possible.
Surge-protected power distribution, AC extensions, cable sleeves, ties, clips, and routing hardware selected for the room.
Important: USB-C describes the connector—not the cable's capability. Charge-only cables will not work. Every cable must support the data standard required by the device. Cable lengths are selected after the room is measured.
The boundary is deliberate
The Good and Great lists define the quality and capability of the studio. The consulting work adapts that proven system to your room: placement, mounting, cable routing, settings, automation, and the way you actually work.
